In-Person Learning in the Time of COVID

Redwood Montessori Academy is committed to providing the best educational environment – in the safest way possible – for our students. This requires a community effort from the school and from our families.

At Redwood Montessori Academy, we follow CDC and MSDE guidelines to protect staff and students and minimize any possible exposure, including:

  • screening staff and students before entering
  • cohort groupings – each class is separate from the others
  • masks and social distancing
  • frequent hand-washing
  • regular cleaning and disinfecting of surfaces

We depend on families to follow protective procedures at home to avoid bringing COVID into their households and avoid bringing it into the school, including:

Anyone exhibiting any of the following symptoms must stay home and contact their physician:

  • shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, new or worsening cough, fever (100.4 or above), chills, muscle pain, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell, head aches, body aches, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea

Follow doctor recommendations.

Notify the school about the situation.

If no testing is recommended, remain at home until symptoms have been gone for 24 hours (without medication) before returning to school. A doctor’s note may be required by the school before returning.

The school may shut down for a limited time – and families may be required to quarantine – if there is any potential or documented exposure within the school family. There will be no refunds for any period of time less then 4 weeks that the school is required to close.
